I got inspired by Dan Koe to start taking writing online seriously.

I want to write about online writing but I'm much more experienced with computer programming.

So I write about computer programming with a bit of motivation mixed in.

By reading this post you'll learn:

• What not to do
• How to engage an audience
• How to come up with a bunch of ideas for what to write
• How to structure posts (important!)
• Using AI to analyse what to double down on
• And, of course, what this disinformation thing is all about

Awe-inspiring writing means nothing if everyone scrolls past it.

Learn copywriting! I cannot stress that enough.

What not to do

First, I’ll cover what I see not working as simply as possible:

• X is not Facebook or Instagram. Nobody cares what you ate for lunch
• Milquetoast/fencesitting posts will net little to no interaction
• Meandering content without structure
• Large blocks of text

This is based on me using the platform and seeing people make these “mistakes”. Perhaps they aren’t mistakes and these people aren’t on the platform to grow - that’s entirely possible.

But we are looking to grow, so don’t do that stuff.
